National Conversation Starts on Public Health and Chemical Exposure

is a stakeholder and public involvement initiative intended to develop an action agenda for protecting public health through the safe use and management of chemicals.  In a keynote address, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson described chemical management policy as a “meat and potatoes” issue, and announced that she believed “the time has come for reform of the Toxic Substances Control Act, the 30-year old statute for regulating industrial chemicals.”  She pledged to “work with Congress and all of our stakeholders on this important effort.”  Time will tell. . . .
