The Demand for Temperate Climate and The Quality of Life Impacts Caused by Climate Change
Some good friends of mine have written an important paper on the economic costs of climate change with a focus on its impact on amenities and the “good life”. In a nutshell, will San Francisco continue to be “San Francisco” as climate change plays out? What would we lose if it becomes Fresno? This is an academic paper written for other academic economists but I believe that a broad audience can skim the paper to get a better sense of how economists speak to each other when we are not YELLING about macroeconomic issues.

People who are considering moving to Texas in pursuit of the good life should be advised that we have a hot climate here. Anyone who wants the good life but cannot adapt to hot climate should consider either trying harder or moving elsewhere. Most Texans learn to like hot weather after a while, its just one of the reasons that we are so cool. Texas can teach America how to adapt to climate change. Come on down, get a job, buy a house, be cool.
