Ann Carlson is the Shirley Shapiro Professor of Environmental Law and the co-Faculty Director of the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at UCLA School of Law.  Professor Carlson is one of the nation’s leading scholars of climate change law and policy.  Her work has appeared in the California Law Review, the Northwestern Law Review, the Harvard Law Review Forum, Ecology Law Quarter, UCLA Law Review and the Harvard Journal on Legislation, among other publications.  She and Dan Farber are the authors of a leading casebook, Environmental Law (9th Ed. forthcoming 2013).  Professor Carlson has served on the National Academy of Sciences panel “Limiting the Magnitude of Climate Change,” the American Academy of Arts and Sciences group on Alternative Energy Futures and is a co-author of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, 5th Assessment.  She has won the UCLA Distinguished Teaching Award, Eby Prize, and the Rutter Award for Excellence in Teaching.  She is currently serving as Academic Vice Dean of the UCLA School of Law.
