Nicolás E. Esguerra is Project Director of the Earth System Interventions Law and Policy (ESI) Project at UCLA School of Law’s Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment. His research and policy engagement lies in international climate policy and the law and policy of interventions into natural systems in response to escalating climate risk. A former disaster relief worker, he received his B.A. in Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies magna cum laude from Columbia University and his M.A. in Global Affairs from Yale University.
