Jenn Perron is a Senior Climate Policy Fellow with the California-China Climate Institute (CCCI). She has worked on global climate change for over a decade, in academia, think tanks, and non-profits, often focused on broadening stakeholder engagement and awareness on the issue.

Prior to joining CCCI, Jenn worked as a Project Manager at The Brookings Institution, facilitating inter-disciplinary collaboration and research scholarship on climate and energy issues. Before that, she served as a Community & Partnerships Manager at MIT’s Center for Collective Intelligence, and an International Climate Policy Coordinator for an international advocacy network.

Jenn has a strong background in both the science and politics of global climate change, with areas of interest in international climate policy and diplomacy and its nexus with U.S. domestic climate policies, in adaptation and building community resilience, and in the role of the networks in broadening civil society engagement and advancing multilateral environmental governance processes. She has conducted social science research on urban climate adaptation and adaptive capacity, explored the uptake of scientific information on climate impacts by agricultural decision-makers, researched sectoral decarbonization strategies, examined the effects of Latin American climate mitigation strategies on livelihoods, and tracked the UN climate negotiations, and written on the nexus of climate policy, finance, food security and sustainable land use.

She holds a Master’s in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources and Environment, and a Bachelor’s in environmental science.
