Executive Disorders
One after another, Trump has let loose destructive blasts at the environment to promote fossil fuels, mining, and logging.
We all know that Trump has issued a slew of executive orders since taking the oath of office. We also know that many of these are aimed to promoting fossil fuels, mining, and logging at the expense of the environment, while disfavoring renewable energy. Still, it’s impressive when you put the list together to see the full onslaught.
If anything, the list below underplays the extent of the attack on the environment. It doesn’t include attacks on the civil service and on agency budgets that are being used to hinder the ability of the government to implement environmental laws. Nor does it include tariffs that impede the development of clean energy. It’s also an undercount in that some of executive orders are like cluster bombs, with as many as eight or ten separate blasts at environmental law in side them.
Notably, out of the roughly 150 presidential actions that Trump has taken so far, there is not a single one that’s aimed at protecting the environment. Not one.
- EO 14285: Unleashing America’s Offshore Critical Minerals and Resources
- EO 14276: Restoring American Seafood Competitiveness
- EO 14270: Zero-Based Regulatory Budgeting To Unleash American Energy
- EO 14264: Maintaining Acceptable Water Pressure in Showerheads
EO 14260: Protecting American Energy From State Overreach - EO 14241: Immediate Measures To Increase American Mineral Production
- EO 14225: Immediate Expansion of American Timber Production
- EO 14213: Establishing the National Energy Dominance Council
- EO 14208: Ending Procurement and Forced Use of Paper Straws
- EO 14192: Unleashing Prosperity Through Deregulation
- EO 14181: Emergency Measures To Provide Water Resources in California and Improve Disaster Response in Certain Areas

- EO 14154: Unleashing American Energy
- EO 14151: Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing
- EO 14148: Initial Rescissions of Harmful Executive Orders and Actions
There are also some presidential actions that aren’t denominated as executive orders:
- Presidential Action: Temporary Withdrawal of All Areas on the Outer Continental Shelf from Offshore Wind Leasing and Review of the Federal Government’s Leasing and Permitting Practices for Wind Projects
- Memorandum: Directing The Repeal of Unlawful Regulations
- Proclamation: Regulatory Relief for Certain Stationary Sources to Promote American Energy
- Putting People over Fish: Stopping Radical Environmentalism to Provide Water to Southern California
Just what I needed to frame an upcoming presentation on the effect of Prez EOs on renewable energy projects. Saved me a few hours of work. Thanks
