In His Own Words: The Unitary Executive Explains Science Stuff to Us

Inside the government, the war on science seems to be over, and ignorance has won.

If the whole executive branch is just an extension of the President, government science equates to presidential thinking.  The idea of the unitary executive theory, at least as understood by this Administration, is that everyone in the government is the President’s sock puppet. This tends not to work so well when issues like vaccination safety, atmospheric physics, and epidemiology are involved.

I wrote earlier this week about the war on science.  In the past couple of days, the President has given us the benefit of his wisdom on highly technical issues. It seems clear that, as far as the government is concerned, the war on science is over, and ignorance has won.

I’m going to let the President make my case for me.  Below are excerpts of Trump’s explanations of vaccine policy, autism causation, and climate science.

Trump on Public Health – In His Own Words

This is from a transcript of the President’s Sept. 22, 2025, press conference.

“And they pump so much stuff into those beautiful little babies, it’s a disgrace. I don’t see it. I think it’s very bad. They’re pumping — it looks like they’re pumping into a horse. You have a little child, a little fragile child and you get a vat of 80 different vaccines, I guess, 80 different blends and they pump it in. So ideally, a woman won’t take Tylenol.”

“We want no aluminum in the vaccine. The MMR, I think should be taken separately. This is based on what I feel. The mumps, measles and the three should be taken separately. And it seems to be that when you mix them, there could be a problem. So, there’s no downside in taking them separately. In fact, they think it’s better.”

“And then hepatitis B is sexually transmitted. There’s no reason to give a baby that’s almost just born, hepatitis B. So I would say, wait till the baby is 12 years old and formed and take hepatitis B. And I think if you do those things, it’s going to be a whole different — It’s going to be a revolution in a positive sense in the country. …”

“I mean, there’s a rumor, and I don’t know if it’s so or not, that Cuba, they don’t have Tylenol because they don’t have the money for Tylenol. And they have virtually no autism, okay. Tell me about that one. Uh, and there are other parts of the world where they don’t have Tylenol where they don’t have autism.”

Just in case you’re wondering, almost none of that is true. Click here for an explainer.

Climate Science

There’s no transcript yet of Trump’s Sept. 23, 2025, speech to the U.N. General Assembly, and the actual remarks seem to bear little resemblance to the written version released at the same time. So, I’ve had to use press reports instead.

“It used to be global cooling. If you look back years ago in the 1920s and 1930s they said, ‘Global cooling will kill the world.’ Then they said ‘global warming will kill the world.’ But then it started getting cooler. … [I]t’s the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world.”

“All of these predictions made by the United Nations and many others, often for bad reasons, were wrong. They were made by stupid people that have cost their countries fortunes and given those same counties no chance for success.”

“Europe loses more than 175,000 to heat deaths every year because the costs are so expensive you can’t turn on an air conditioner. What is that all about? That’s not Europe. That’s not the Europe that I love and know. All in the name of pretending to stop the global warming hoax,”

“If you don’t get away from this green scam your country is going to fail. And I’m really good at predicting things.”

Green energy policies send manufacturing to “polluting countries that break the rules and are making a fortune.”

The idea of a carbon footprint is “nonsense” and a “hoax made up by people with evil intentions.”

“Immigration and the high cost of so called green renewable energy is destroying a large part of the free world and a large part of our planet. You need strong borders and traditional energy sources if you are going to be great again.”

So there you have it. What’s happened to science within the government is this: It’s been overwhelmed by a tsunami of ideology and ignorance.
